31 Days {Day 21} : Flashback Friday – Liza

I have often felt as if I was living in the in-between.  The first time I remember this season was the summer between high school and college.  It was a summer between something I loved and before something else new and exciting.  Since then I have experienced some harder in between seasons and some lovely ones.

One in between season I do feel so grateful for was the time in between living in Texas and living on the North Shore.  Andrew’s company in Texas graciously said that though we were leaving Texas he could work from home, so the world was open to us to live virtually anywhere, yet we had no idea where we wanted to live.  My grandmother was so generous and allowed us to live the time of in between at her lake house in the Adirondacks.

We did a good deal of cleaning and decluttering while we were living there, so it did feel like we were helping my grandmother in a small way . . .

It was a bit of a summer of roughing it . . . we lived a ways from civilization, Andrew set up his home office in a room with mice . . . and then mice-proofed the rest of the house (Bounce sheets and lots of plugging of holes).

I finished my Masters while we lived on this cliff, overlooking these islands, islands that I grew up playing on . . .

We slowed way down, we lived so simply.  We caught up on seasons of Lost, watching one a night on the laptop.

We did some exploring . . .

Family came to visit

But mostly it was the two of us,

Snuggled up by the fire . . .

Enjoying the time of in between.

Isn’t the best time of adventure when you are on the journey?

The Adirondacks from Vermont.
